Parenting programs at CYS include Successful Single Parenting (SSP), which is designed for parents who are separated or divorced. The program examines the needs of children during and after the break-up of a marriage or relationship. Parents learn how to improve the sharing of parental responsibilities for their children.
Who is eligible for this program?
Any parent 18 years of age or older may enroll in the class. This class is also sometimes required by the court system as a condition of divorce/custody proceedings.
What is the cost of this program?
The cost for the class is $165 if paid in full at the time of registration. You may choose instead to pay a non-refundable deposit of $90, with an additional $90 payment due by the fifth week of class, for a total cost of $180.
How do I enroll in this program?
Participants must sign up in person at the Comprehensive Youth Services Main Office / Clinical Facility at 3795 E. Shields Avenue in Fresno. Please be aware that classes fill quickly and it is best to sign up as far in advance as possible to ensure enrollment. Participants cannot be enrolled at or after the first class session. Former spouses/partners may not attend the same class.

What is the attendance policy?
Participants must attend and participate in all six sessions in order to successfully complete the class.
Will I receive proof that I completed the class?
Participants who successfully complete all six sessions of the class and have paid in full will receive a Certificate of Completion on the last day of class.
What other parenting programs are provided at CYS?
In addition to Successful Single Parenting, CYS staff are certified to provide Abriendo Puertas, an evidence-based parent leadership training program for Latino parents, and Nurturing Parenting, evidence-based programs that are designed for the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect.
